In Which She Contemplates a Career in Astrophysics March 26, 2008

Filed under: Oh I Do Love Me Some Jesus — violin3679 @ 2:09 am

So some of you may know, and some of you may not know, but I’m in need of some prayer. About…you know…some stuff. Incredibly long story short, I’ve got some Very Big Decisions looming ahead of me and I’m needin’ some discernment prayer. And patience prayer. And ohmywordsomedeliverance prayer.

What is the Very Big Decision, you ask? Well, I’ve decided that I want to be an astronaut.

Well. Not really. But what I feel God calling me to is about as unfamiliar territory as if I were. I hope y’all will forgive me, but I’m keeping details under wraps for the time being, but I know what prayer warriors y’all are and I just love you so much. So I humbly ask you, when the notion hits you, to send up a few intercessory prayers for my po’ self.

Thanks, chicas. I love y’all.

    Will do sister. the prayers of the righteous (wo)man are powerful and effective (James 5:16). If you need a mature or just really old objective ear just give me a call!

    Ooh, yeah, I should clarify – and I’ll try not to leave any room for confusion ;)

    I AM NOT QUITTING MY JOB.

    Poor Bill, he’s so skiddish. Wouldn’t want word like that getting around to him!

    (forgive my paraphrasing Proverbs 2; Isaiah 30:15-18 but His Word is THE BEST!)

    Dear Jesus, our Living Lord, sitting at God’s right hand, intervening for us the unworthy…

    May Whitney, receive Your words…treasure Your commandments within her;
    Make her ear attentive to Your wisdom, Incline her heart to understanding. As she cries for discernment and lifts her voice for understanding, she is seeking Your silver; Your hidden treasures.
    I pray she discerns the fear of the Lord and discovers the knowledge of God.

    LORD,give Whitney wisdom;
    From Your mouth give her knowledge and understanding.
    You store up sound wisdom for Whitney, who is upright ;
    You are a shield to her as she walks in integrity.
    Guard her in your paths of justice, And preserve the way of this godly one. May she discern righteousness and justice.
    Give her your wisdom in her heart.

    Dear Lord, “continue drawing Whitney to come to you; to trust you, for you will save her.
    In her quiet, remind her to be calm and trust you, so she will be strong.”
    Show your mercy to her, because we know You will rise and comfort her.
    You, Lord, are a fair God–as Whitney waits for your help make her happy.

    Just remember, Sweet Girl, that your path was laid out for you eons before you were born. Just keep asking for discernment and know that your mama and your friends are praying for you to see clearly what God wants for you.

    Sit back and let the current take you where He wants you to go – what a ride!

    Love you SO much,

    Mom
